As part of our community + wellness programming, the Heela Sewing Course offers opportunities to learn detail-oriented machine skills alongside others who share a common interest.

To take ownership of a new skill — creating something both beautiful and functional — is an empowering experience. Building on the hand-sewing skills many of our clients learned from their mothers and grandmothers, clients choose to use the skills they develop in the course in a multitude of ways. Some pursue jobs and flourish in a sewing-related career, while others use the skills to beautify their homes and to sew clothing for their family.

The Heela Sewing Course is divided into two levels: Beginner Level 1 and Beginner Level 2. The first level focuses on learning the basics of sewing through simple home goods projects. The second level is open to graduates of Beginner Level 1 and focuses on garment making and professional sewing skills.
