Other 1:1 Support Roles
Volunteers support clients in a variety of other ways, working toward specific goals over a set period of time in a subject area. Please always defer to ReR staff with questions or help setting boundaries around special task roles.
-
Volunteer roles will vary in length, from a one time hour-long opportunity, to working with a client on a special task 1-2 hours a week for up to 2 months. Please refer to the match email sent by the Volunteer Engagement Team for more details.
Please check your email frequently as there may be updates regarding your volunteer role. Please respond to check-in emails promptly so that the ReR team can assess further need and progress of clients.
Please review our boundaries policies as you work with a client on special tasks. You are supplementing a network of support clients have access to and our goal is to work folks toward self-sufficiency. Always defer to ReR staff with questions.
-
Volunteer Interpreters are meant to compliment the interpretation work or ReR staff and paid contractors. Read the following expectations before volunteering as an interpreter:
-
Volunteers will support clients on learning basic Financial Literacy skills based on a pre-written ReR curriculum. Many times these orientations we offer are needed in client languages and are often performed by staff. Refer to training ahead of volunteer roles for details. NOTE- Volunteers should never give direct financial advice or recommendations to clients that deviate from ReR provided resources. Volunteers should never directly manage or get involved in client’s financial affairs.
