What is the Census?
The 2020 Census counts every person living in the United States and five U.S. territories. The census provides important data that lawmakers, teachers, organizations, and many others use when deciding how to allocate resources, services, and billions of dollars in public funding to communities.
Will my information be shared?
No, your response to the 2020 census is confidential and protected by law. Any personal information that you share in your census response cannot be accessed by any law enforcement agency - including the FBI, ICE, and the local police.
How do I respond?
Most households received an invitation by mail to complete the 2020 census during March. You can choose the complete the census by mail, phone, or online. The 2020 Census questionnaire only takes about 10 minutes to complete. For more information about how to respond, please visit the United States 2020 Census website.
